How to Party Right

First thing that is most important to this blog is that I do not drink. I do not drink because a) I am underage and b) I like being in complete control of my actions and body. Anyway, when you don’t drink at college, it can be difficult to go to parties because you become the babysitter for your friends who do drink. However, McDaniel has come up with the perfect solution to this issue: McDaniel “Late Nights”. These are events sponsored by the college to allow safe yet fun places to enjoy yourself. They have had many cool events. The last one I went to was Fall Fest where there was cotton candy, caramel apples, and games. My RA also taught me how to make a friendship bracelet. These “Late Nights” provide awesome study breaks and a fun night out with friends.

Last night I had the pleasure of working and going to the Glow Party. It was awesome because there were tons of glow sticks and flashlights. The DJ played some really good mixes of songs we all loved. There were DELICIOUS mocktails provided by the Wellness Center and yummy appetizers from Vocelli’s (the pizza place on campus). I had so much fun dancing with my friends and belting out the songs together although I have yet to learn any other lyric from “Wreaking Ball” other than “I came in like a wrecking ball”. Although I am sure some people probably showed up after having partied for a bit, it was nice to be able to have a great time in an alcohol-free environment because you do not have to drink to have a good time. This event was the perfect close to my crazy, awesome week.
