Today was an unusual Sunday for me. Instead of a day full of homework, I had a day full of soccer! The Women’s soccer team had their spring ball tournament today at Goucher College. We played three 50 minute games against Catholic, Stevenson, and Goucher. I am happy to report that we won all three games! As a senior, who technically does not have to play spring ball, I was so glad to be out on the field with my team for one more game day. It was fun and the weather was beautiful!
The off season, a.k.a. spring ball for soccer, is much different than regular season. The team is only allowed about 16 practices with the coach there and only one day of games. Most sports teams also usually have an alumni game during their off season, where all the former players come back and challenge the current players. I know that for Women’s soccer, our spring ball is a lot of work. We do not only do the 16 practices. We are working out every day, either with our workout partners or getting the whole team together. The hard work definitely pays off though, and I think we showed that today with our three wins!
I hope everyone else had a great day and enjoyed the weather like I did!
