Hi guys,
It feels like just a week ago that it was freezing here in Maryland–oh wait. That’s because it was. But somehow, this weekend has been beautiful and sunny with temperatures up to about 80 degrees Fahrenheit. I don’t understand these weather changes since back home in San Francisco it’s always between 60 and 70 degrees.
The school couldn’t have picked a more perfect day for its annual Spring Fling yesterday. It was the first truly warm day of the year, on which I could don a sundress and sunglasses, and somehow, despite having had a truly hectic and busy week, I found myself being relatively caught up on all my work. This weekend has been the calm before the storm of upcoming end-of-year preparations and finals. It felt like a celebration of spring.
Yesterday at Spring Fling, there were a ton of giant inflatable slides and things to jump on set up as well as a tie-dying shirt station and a live band. My friends and I brought blankets out to Red Square and lay on the grass in the sun and played cards, read, and generally hung out. Later, we went to the Pub and got dinner to-go and ate it sitting in the sun outside of Whiteford Hall.
Normally, many of us are stressing about homework and tests and what we’re going to do with the rest of our lives. Yesterday, almost everyone took a break and enjoyed each other’s companies. I daresay it was one of the best days of the year yet.
