Senior spring has started the Honors Colloquium, meaning that I get to reconnect with the people I once lived with as a Freshman. It is pretty exciting to close out my time at McDaniel here with them, and got me thinking about all of the honors perks. Here are a few I can think of.
Housing- Instead of the large sized Freshman dormitories we had suite style living. This was incredibly convenient and much nicer, seeing as just a few people shared two bathrooms. It also was an instant community, and co-ed, which I enjoyed.
Library- We get to check out books for much longer periods of time. My friend gets them for three weeks, and I get mine for three months. Definitely a perk. There are benefits to liking to read!
Class registration- Honors members also have registration before other members of the class. This gives us access to classes before other students in our same year.
All in all I got great benefits from this program, and I am so happy that I get to close out my time here bonding with everyone I lived with as a Freshman. I wouldn’t want it any other way.
