Being Sick at School

Staying on top of your studies and work-load in college is tough stuff, and nothing makes this more difficult then getting sick.  It doesn’t take long for a virus to spread around campus when we all practically live and eat with each other.  We’re exposed to germs 24/7, and good hygiene can only help so much.

Just a few days ago, out of nowhere, I got a horrible fever and sore throat that pretty much kept me in bed for 48 hours.  Apparently there have been a decent amount of students or faculty members that have experienced the same symptoms recently.  Besides the fact that being sick is awful, being sick inevitably hurts academic performance…because, ya know, you can’t go to class or do any work.  Luckily for me, I recovered quickly and should be able to catch up on missed class-work.  It is assuring to know that McDaniel also has a great Wellness Center on campus where doctors and nurses are prepared to make you feel better ASAP.

Stay healthy and hygienic my friends!
