For those who have made the jump to iOS 5, the following MacWorld article explains how to do updates “over the air.” But wait! Isn’t that supposed to be automatic now? Well, it is . . . sort of. Apple released iOS 5.01 last Thursday, but neither of my i-devices has received the iOS update even though they’ve been on wi-fi networks and I’ve done App store updates. So what gives?
According to the article, iOS update notifications should show up eventually. Anyone dealing with the battery-draining-bug will want this update sooner rather than later, though, since it promises a fix for the bug among other things. MacWorld’s article, “Hands on with iOS over-the-air updates” walks you through the manual update process (easy).
