On Tuesday, February 4 at approximately 6:35pm, my life was changed forever. It all started when I went to dinner with a few friends. We were talking casually about many things like the recent Atlanta snowfall and how some conspiracy theorists thought the snow wasn’t real or the sloth video with Kristen Bell. It was one of those evenings where everything is hilarious, and you felt like you had all the time in the world. Just as we were about finishing up our dinner, some other friends joined us at the table, so we sat even longer and talked about other random things like T-Pain’s rapping career, etc.
So I bet you are thinking, yeah, yeah that’s all wonderful, but where is the life-changing part? It all occurred when HE walked in. Now among the many topics of our conversation, tonight’s magician performance came up. I had talked about how I was obsessed with love and how you never know what’s going to happen. For example, he could ask me on stage to be his lovely assistant, saw me in half, and then we would get married. Just like that! Anyway, what are the chances of this actually happening, right?
So I see this guy walk into Glar (our dining hall) and he’s nicely dressed and super cute, so I’m like “oh that’s nice”. Then he comes over to our table and starts talking, and in my head I think, “Wow, that takes a lot of confidence”, but when he says I am Todd, the magician for tonight, I squealed, and the whole table burst into uncontrollable laughter. I literally almost cried.
After we sort of regained our composure, he did some magic and made these rabbits appear and disappear. It was amazing! Later that night in the show, I went up on stage and at one point, HE HELD MY HAND! The show was great. It was really cheesy, but super magical. Unfortunately, we did not get married nor did I get sawed in half because he has a girlfriend. However, I did get a dog balloon animal out of it and a cool pin. All in all, I’d say it was a win.
