 71 Leechfield and Leer Leech field is a method used to treat/dispose of sewage in rural areas not accessible to a municipal sewer system. Sewage is permitted to be filtered and eventually discharged into a section of the lot called a leech field. Leer is an unpleasant look someone gives you.
 71 Daguerreotypes Daguerreotype is the first commercially successful photographic process in the history of photography. Daguerreotype is not flexible and  is heavy. A daguerreotype is accurate, detailed, and sharp. A daguerreotype has a mirror-like surface and is very fragile. Daguerreotypes were very expensive, so only the wealthy could afford to have their picture taken from it. Daguerreotypes were also used to capture the time and image of an individual. During the civil war, soldiers would take these pictures to remember their experience and be a part of history. Additionally, Presidents and historical figures would use these still pictures too. This was also popular in the west.

 72 Green Negro Green refers to the description of a person being naive, gullible, or inexperience. Negro refers to an Afro-American. In collaboration,  it means an African-American that is  gullible, new, or naive.
 73 Tracers A tracer is a person or thing that traces something or by which something may be traced. In the context of Flight to Canada, they were referring to people that can track runaway slaves.
 73  Mints Mints in Flight to Canada mean a sum of money. They are seen as a sum of money to their masters.
 75 What Castle are they talking about? The Castle they are talking about is the house that the master lives in. It is an adjective that describes the luxuriousness of the master’s life style and that of a slave who lives there.
 71 Emancipation City In the context of Flight to Canada, the description of this city is hinted at a place where slaves are free from legal, social, and or political restrictions. In a way, that are liberated from servitude to any and all masters of slavery within the city.
 71 “Underneath one of those Brady boxes” A Brady box may be referred to as a lock box.
 72 William Wells Brown William Wells Brown was a prominent African-American abolitionist lecturer, novelist, playwright, and historian in the United States. Brown was a pioneer in several different literary genres, including travel writing, fiction, and drama.
